Absorption of the oily components in suspension from the shochu onto fibrillar polyropylene fiber packed with 0.1g/cm3 of density in a column was examined. The absorption ability of column, in series of ethyl esters of fatty acids, exponentially increased with the increment of carbon number (C6-C18)
Ethyl palmitate and ethyl linoleate was eliminated respectively below the solubility from the shochu, besides aromatic ester remains largely at 35% of ethanol concentration to the extent of SV 60 hr-1.
The Absorption ability decreased as the turbidity of shochu was higher.
