Result of test embankment on application of geotextiles to fills with high-water content cohesive soils

Abstract

The use of geotextiles is expected to ensure the trafficability of cohesive soils with high-water content and accelerate the consolidation of the embankment itself. Therefore, test embankments with polymer-grids, nets and spunbonded nonwoven fablics were constructed respectively, and various masurements during and after were carried out. This paper discusses the effects of geotextiles on the basis of the result of site investigations.
