Abstract
The construction of steep embankment reinforced with geotextiles has been increased remarkably in Japan, during these few years However, many problems exist regarding the methods of design and construction due to use of volcanic ash clay and much rainfall which are locality in Japan.
Therefore, as a step of establishing the methods of design and construction, the test construction has been carried out at the land formation site in the valley, in the which various ideas on the construction have been produced to extract technical issues, the contents of which are introduced here.
