Abstract
A series of pull-out tests was carried out for a reinforced specimen, which consists of a stack of aluminum rods and a reinforcement, under the conditions of constant loading and constant volume. Based on the test results, pull-out behavior of reinforcement was disussed. And then, deformation properties in the specimen were quantitatively evaluated by image analysis of photos of the specimen. It was shown that the distribution of vertical stress increment due to pull-out of a reinforcement in the specimen could be approximate with exponential function. Based on the distribution of vertical stress increment, a model to evaluate shear strength on sliding surface in a reinforced soil structure was proposed. Furthermore, biaxial compression tests during pulling-out of a reinforcement were carried out. It was shown that increment of shear strength was caused by pull-out of a reinforcement.
