Abstract
The newly developed short-tubular stress corrosion cracking (SCC) sensor was introduced into a chemical plant in order to establish an on-line monitoring technique for the condition-based maintenance (CBM) of the equipment being used in SCC susceptible environments. The RD-type potential noises, which were associated with the corrosion phenomena of the specimen and the monitoring object were measured. The accidental contamination of an organic compound was detected with the corrosion potential variation. The developed sensor is considered an effective monitoring technique for the CBM.
