Abstract

The corrosion behavior of ADC12 was monitored by continuous measurement of two-point frequency impedance using an ICM sensor consisting of two spiral-shaped electrodes. In both cyclic condition and immersion corrosion test, NaCl solution was highly corrosive, while artificial sea salt had an impedance behavior that inhibited corrosion. As results of a similar test using a salt mixture of NaCl and MgCl2, impedance behavior suggesting the corrosion inhibiting effect of Mg ions was detected.
