We report two patients suffered from separation of proximal tibial epiphysis as a result of jumping activity. The two patients were 16-year-old boys belonging to a tennis club. One was Salter-Harris type I separation, who was treated by closed reduction. The other one was type III, treated by open reduction and internal fixation.
Type of separation depends on epiphyseal maturation. Mechasism of this injury is imbalance of muscle power between quadriceps femoris and hamstring. Thirteen months after treatment, there is no evidence of complications and clinical course is proving successful.
