Overviewing the first thirty years of Cognitive Studies

Abstract

Cognitive Studies: Bulletin of the Japanese Cognitive Science Society has published academic articles for thirty years since its first issue being launched. This article attempts to identify the sub-fields in which the published articles are distributed by a text-based statistical analysis of the set of the articles published in Cognitive Studies. It found the seven clusters of articles, which we may respectively express by inference/decision making, spatial/embodied cognition, dialogue/interaction,vision/computational neuroscience, practical studies, language, and narratives/arts. We briefly overview the dynamic changes of these sub-fields over the thirty years.
