Lithium disilicate cantilever resin-bonded fixed partial dentures (CRB FPDs) were selected for an esthetic defect of the mandibular bilateral central incisors after the extraction of the deciduous teeth. The occlusal condition was recorded and fabricated using a digital process. We herein report the treatment that met the patient’s request.
The patient was a 34 year-old male with poor esthetics of the mandibular anterior teeth and movement of the late remaining deciduous teeth. He had a congenital defect in the bilateral mandibular central incisors, and a right lateral deciduous anterior tooth was fused to the site and remained late. The deciduous tooth was extracted, a provisional restoration fabricated by a 3D printer was placed, and periodontal tissues were allowed to heal. Two lithium disilicate CRB FPDs fabricated using digital processes were then placed.
No adverse events, such as debonding or breakage, have been reported to date. By incorporating digital processes in various areas, such as the design of prostheses, the treatment was efficient and effective.
