Abstract

Neonatal sepsis is an intractable disease with a high mortality, but the lack of an optimal animal model made it difficult to investigate its pathophysiology. We have established a non-surgical preterm sepsis mouse model by applying the cecal slurry method to 4-day-old newborn mice which equivalent to human preterm infants. In this paper, we will explain in detail the process of establishing the model.
