This paper empirically explores how multiple job holding affects the desire for occupational mobility in Japan, based on the data from Employment Status Survey in 2002 and 2007. We observe two effects in our empirical results. First, multiple job holding encourages female employees (both full-time and temporary) and male full-time employees to change their main jobs. Secondly, multiple job holders whose main job and second job belong to the same industry category tend to have desire to change their main jobs.
