Satellite monitoring using an interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) has strong potential for the detection of large deformations or tilts on reinforced slopes. However, the limitation of results from InSAR analysis of geometric characteristics of reinforced slopes have not been adequately clarified. In this study we evaluated InSAR results derived from ALOS-2/PALSAR-2 data acquired in ascending and descending orbits that affect between the geometric condition of the reinforced slopes and SAR observation condition at three test sites. Our results demonstrate that there is a strong relationship between the geometric condition of reinforced slopes and SAR observation conditions such as orbit and off-nadir angle.
