Thermal and mechanical loads on die material are increasing as die-casting products are growing in size, becoming more complicated in design, and as a result of high-cycle production. In this study, a die-casting machine was used to observe the damage profile of the actual die and clarify the influence of the die material and operating conditions. We examined the relationship between the conditions of use and die damage. Furthermore, CAE was applied to the test results to examine cracks on die surfaces.
