Up-until-now, no fundamental data have been found for characteristics of fluidic devices under gas-liquid two-phase flow. So the authors have carried out a study on fluidic devices by using the gas-liquid two-phase flow.
This paper describes the experimental results of the characteristics and instability of attachment jet in a wall attachment device by using an air-water bubbly flow as the working fluid.
The results are summarized as follows :
1) As the void fraction increased, the characteristics of the wall-attachment device fell and the device came to be more easily affected by the load.
2) The attachment distance of the main jet increased according to the increase in the void fraction.
3) The wall attachment device can work from 0 to about 0.35 for a void fraction.
4) The main reason for the instability of attachment jet caused by increasing the void fraction is due to decreasing of the pressure difference between the attachment bubble and environment, which is due to the increase in air bubbles at the attachment bubble by the return flow.
