A Study on the Spread of Fuzziness in Multi-fold Multistage Approximate Reasoning : Approximate Reasoning with Triangular Type Membership Function

Abstract

It has been generally said that multi-stage approximate reasoning shows the explosion of fuzziness with the number of reasoning stages. Then, in this paper we theoretically study the spread of fuzziness in a certain combination of four kinds of reasoning environment and four representative transformation rules of Rs, Rg, Ra, Rc to fuzzy relation.Consequently, certain conditions which enhance the spread of fuzziness and inhibit the spread of fuzziness were found out.
