Abstract
This article presents the transfer of an historical garden from Myōren-ji Gyokuryū-in temple in Kyoto to Tōshōdai-ji Higashimuro temple in Nara by Mori Osamu (1908-1985), a Japanese garden historian and creator. The garden transfer resulted in the creation of a new garden by Mori affecting its intrinsic value. However, the fact that historical documents have been left and that the stones and the image of the original garden survives in the new place is considered to be significant.
