Abstract
The Miyazaki Plain with many marine and fluvial terraces is a typical area of Quaternary sediments in Kyushu, although its stratigraphy and ages of middle Pleistocene sediments have not been clarified well. The authors tephrochronologically establish the stratigraphy and discuss the development and tectonics of the Miyazaki Plain during the past 1 Ma (Nagaoka et al., 2010).
