Molecular oxygen number densities were obtained from the rocket measurements of the extinction of solar H Lyman-α radiation in the upper atmosphere. The detector was the ion chamber with MgF2 window and filled with NO gas, and the observation was made when the solar zenith angle was about 96°. In the analysis the contribution due to the solar radiations other than H Lyman-α line and the effect of the solar disk size were considered. The present result is in good agreement with the CIRA (1972) mean atmosphere in the altitude range 90-135km.
