In the observation of ions in the atmosphere, we must consider that the observed values should differ from those in the free atmosphere owing to the deformation of the atmospheric electric field caused by the existence of the building, within which the observing instruments are settled. Therefore, comparison among the observed values at various positions would be meaningless, without taking account of such an effect of the electric field.
In this paper, we tried to find the suitable position of the aperture for drawing the air into the building in a few simple cases, so that the consideration of such an effect may be dispensed with.
