Abstract
In this paper, the type of faults (strike-slip fault, normal fault and reverse fault) defined by seismography and geology is explained clearly and geometrically by using Mohr’s stress circle, failure criteria and the pole of the stress circle.
Also, the radiation pattern of double-couple source model is explained by using Mohr’s stress circle. And it was revealed that Mohr’s stress circle is equivalent to the radiation pattern of double-couple source model.
