Abstract
A simple method for evaluation of jointed rock slope stability is proposed in this paper. This method assumes the slide surface with piecewise linear paths, and allocates some parts of path for the joints according to their distribution. As a result, it became possible to search for the slide surface that passes both the intact rock part and the joints. By using the proposed method for a model slope and an actual jointed rock slope, complex shaped slide surface, which is more unstable compared with circular or plane slide, was searched for. Therefore this method is more suitable for the evaluation of jointed rock slope stability than the circular arc method and the trial wedge method.
