Abstract
Segmentation of the internal structure of two-phase materials on which it’s physical properties are depending is of importance for soil and rock mechanics. In the study, micro-focus X-ray CT is used to estimate the effects of measuring conditions on segmentation of the packing of glass beads as a two-phase material. The results showed that the variance of the histogram of CT images affected on segmentation and the band from 27 to 29 of particle-voxel size ratio lied as a borderline of possibility for segmenting two-phase materials. The porosity of the packing of glass beads estimated from the histogram data possible to be segmented had the value ranged from 33 to 37%.
