Abstract
In the present study, in order to investigate the cause for the failure of cut slope of acid sulfate soil occurred in Tsubata-cho district, Kahoku-gun, Ishikawa Prefecture, we performed the resource researches, site investigations and laboratory tests in water content tests, pH(H2O,KCl) tests, electric conductivity tests and ignition loss tests by one boring core. As a obtaining result, it was found that the discontinuity differed mainly from water content, electric conductivity and ignition loss existed. Moreover, the height possibility that the failure of cut slope is occurred in the boundary of this physical and chemical discontinuity became clear, too. In addition, the sedimentary environment of acid sulfate soil was presumed from electric conductivity, and as a result, the cut slope was shown that the possibility of causing with the bedding plane generated along with the marine transgression and the regression with sedimenting was high.
