Abstract
To prevent heat stroke and to improve the thermal comfort in wearing yukata, the suction type fan was installed in the Obi sach while maintaining the traditional construction of the Yukata. To evaluate the effect of the fan, the experiment were done with and without fan. The absolute humidity of the “without fans” was humid at the abdomen and the lower back and low at the upper arm and middle humid at the chest and a back. The absolute humidity of the “with fans” was lower than one of “without fans” at the chest, the back, the abdomen and the lower back. It was found that when the suction fan was attached in the obi sash, absolute humidity and heart rate decline significantly. The thermal, damp, wet, sticky, stuffy and comfort sensations were improved with fans at all.
