Application of probabilistic approach to performance-based disgn

Abstract

As a probabilistic approach to performance-based design, event tree, risk index method and decision tree are tried to apply, as an example, for dam structure. The event tree is useful to identify the order of the importance on the performance of the structure. To examine the priority of rehabilitation among the structures, the risk index method as a failure loss analysis is effective. Finally, to decide the design of structure, the decision tree is very effective.
