Vocal fold augmentation with autologous fat has been widely applied for treating glottis insufficiency, including vocal fold immobility, vocal fold atrophy, and sulcus vocalis. We herein report the long-term voice quality of 55 patients who underwent vocal fold augmentation with autologous fat under local anesthesia. I deleted this ambiguous sentence. After performing the augmentation, the MPT (maximal phonation time) was found to have increased one month later, and the improvement persisted for two years. There were no cases of tracheotomy performed after this surgery. Vocal fold augmentation with autologous fat under local anesthesia was shown to be effective and safe.
