Abstract
Two cases of laryngectomy on patients of laryngeal cancer, complicated with the pulmonary tuberculosis with positive sputum are reported.
PAS, Streptomycin and INAH were administered before and after the laryngectomy in order to prevent the wound infection and aggravation of the tuberculosis of the lung. In this way the tubercle bacilli in sputum decreased from Gaffky No.2-4 before the operation, to 0 after the operation, and satisfactory results were obtained from the point of view of both the laryngeal cancer and the pulmonary tuberculosis.
In treating laryngeal cancer of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, two complications are feared: wound infection and spreading of the pulmonary tuberculosis. But the authors' experiences show that laryngectomy can performed without any danger and camplication and healing of laryngeal cancer can be effected.
