The present study was designed to elucidate the role of tonsils in cell-mediated immunity by the investgation in the following points: IgA and IgG were examined for 12 children in nasopharyngeal washings before and after the tonsillectomy. IgA/IgG after the tonsillectomy was decreased, but was disposed to return after a while.
