Abstract
Twenty eight children (6-15y), who were suffered from nasal allergy, were treated with Ketotifen syrup. Patients received Ketotifen syrup (0.8-2.0mg/day) in two divided dose for oral administration. And we obtained following results.(1) The efficacy rate in sneezing attack was 65.4%, in nasal discharge was 52%, in nasal obstruction was 62.5%.(2) Some improvements in at least one of three major symptoms were noted within 3 days after administration of the drug in 14.3% of the patients, within 1 week in 60.7%, within 2 weeks in 75%, within 3 weeks in 78.6%.(3) Side effect was observed only in one patient with erythema. These results suggested that Ketotifen syrup was highly effective in the treatment of nasal allergy in children.
