Abstract
Cellular immunological activity in 6 patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma in the head and neck region and lung metastases was examined, evaluating in particular lymphocyte, PHA reactivity and NK activity. Results demonstrated that such adenoid cystic carcinoma patients with lung metastases showed normal ranges of cellular immunological activity, including NK activity. Thus, we suspected that some other mechanism influenced the competence of immune cells involved in hematogenous lung metastases.
