Tympanoplasty: A report of 284 operations

Abstract

An analysis was made of 284 cases following tympanoplasty performed during the last 7 years at Isesaki Municipal Hospital. Such factors as the types of tympanoplasty, the relationship between hearing level and age, changes in hearing levels following surgery, complications of chronic otitis media, and rate of recur rence, especially in cholesteatoma were analyzed. Some recommendations were made for further tympano plasty.
