New criteria for the evaluation of acute lacunar tonsillitis

Abstract

This is report on a private plan to develop new unified criteria for the evaluation of acute lacunar tonsillitis. These evaluation criteria constitute a simple method in which the three items of pharyngalgia, tonsillar redness, and coating are classified into the two categories of (+) and (-), and then these evaluations are combined to determine clinical efficacy. When evaluation the criteria proposed here are used, the clinical efficacy continuously changes even in the same subject, but we feel that these are still useful criteria which allow for an accurate the evaluation of the efficacy of various drugs.
