Monomorphic adenomas of the minor salivary glands are rare lesions that generally occur as an asymptomatic swelling of about 2 cm in diameter, most often in the upper lip of patients over 60 years of age. Treatment is complete surgical excision. The literature reports no recurrences of the adenomas on followup examinations of the patients. We report here a rare case of monomorphic adenoma which developed in the minor salivary gland of the hard palate of a 74-year-old woman. The adenoma was treated by limited extracapsular excision, and the hard palate perforation well covered by a dental plate.
