Abstract
The authors reported here a case of congenital pharyngeal hairy polypus which was found in a female infant, aged six months. The pedunculated polypus was found to be growing from the left lateral wall of the soft palate. The overall length of it amounted to 1.6cm and the diameter was that of the finger of an adult. The microscopic examination of the growth showed that the part forming the skin contained a hair follicle, sebacious glands, sweat glands, subcutaneous fat and connective tissues.
The polypus was removed by means of the cautery snare. After removal snoring, difficult lactation and all other symptoms disappeared.
