Abstract
The author investigated occupational tinnitus of mine workers with the following results.
(1)Of 452 patients investigated 16.2% complained of constant tinnitus, 18.8%, transient tinnitus.
(2)59% of the patients of constant tinnitus and 74% of the patients of transient tinnitus complained of bilateral tinnitus.
(3)The number of the patients of constant tinnitus increases with the number of the years of work, while the number of the patients of transient tinnitus decreases inversely with the number of the years of work.
(4)Constant tinnitus mostly is found in both ears.
(5)The patients of constant tinnitus stated that they were first conscious of tinnitus and then of hearing loss.
(6)It seems that the tinnitus is mostly like the pure tone of 4000cps and then 3000cps.
(7)Most of the patients of tinnitus showed hearing loss of dip type.
(8)41% of the patients complained of growing tinnitus in their fatigue.
(9)To about one third of the patients tinnitus was a spiritual burden, while to the rest it was not owing to acclimatization.
