Abstract

The author operated 62 infant cases, aged 6-12, of deviated septum. He achieved good results of causing no facial deformity, especially a depressed nose, hitherto feared.
His experiences make him assert that deviated septum ought to be operated, if necessary, regardless of age.
The operation had better been performed under general anesthesia. For patients under 11 insufflation or endotracheal anesthesia are preferable, and for patients over 12 anesthesia by intravenous injection of cocktail M-1 is preferable.
