Thresholds of auditory brain stem responses were determined in 51 normal guinea pigs using needle electrodes inserted onto the parietal bone along the median line. The mean threshold was 11±7.2 dBSPL (M±SD). Variance of the threshold was small, and did not increase even after five consecutive measurements once a week.
