Abstract

We encountered a 59 year-old female with parotid spindle cell lipoma. Histopathologically, spindle cell lipoma is a relatively rare type of lipoma, and lipoma of the parotid gland is similarly considered to be relatively rare in occurrence. The parotid tumor in this patient was mobile, soft and flat, and was considered to be benign. The tumor was removed under general anesthesia, and was histopathologically diagnosed as a parotid spindle cell lipoma. A review of relevant literature is also included.
