Foreign bodies are commonly found in the ear by otorhinolaryngologists. We treated a 73 year-old female with a foreign body reaction to a H. longicornis tick in the external ear canal. She visited our clinic complaining of auditory discomfort and marked depression of hearing acuity of the right ear.
The tick, which was engorged with blood, had obstructed her external auditory canal and resembled an ear polyp.
