Abstract
From a view-point of manufacture of coke, the author reviewed more than 50 researches on the caking and coking properties of coal carried out in Japan.These reports were classified into the following paragraphs according to the contents and each outline was described.(1) The method of the determination of the caking power of coal, (2) The action of bitumen, (3) The role of humin substance, (4) The coking property, (5) The factors influencing on the coking property, (6) Preparation of hard cokes from domestic weakly coking coals.
