Abstract

The Japanese government established a new national energy policy in May, 1955 and the town gas problems were taken tip which had been apt to be forgotten. It indicates fairly that the diffusion progress of town gas contributes to (1) the conservation and utilization of forest resources, (2) the rationalization of domestic fuel, and (3) the utilization of coal resources and the stabilization of coal mining industry.
The rate of town gas diffusion in Japan is only 13 per cent and much smaller than 50-90 per cent in Europe and America.Accordingly the rise of its diffusion has been strongly desired and the five-year plan of amplification of town gas equipments is in progress.Though many problems are occurring with the progress of the plan, it is desired that the expected purpose is accomplished by the assistance of all the officials and non-officials.
