Abstract

The author describes in outline on the fluidized catalytic cracking apparatus (S.O.D.Model IV) which was completed in Yokohama by the Nihon Oil Refining Co.and shows an example of cracking of Minas crude oil.
In the cracked gas, C3 and C4 fractions are the raw material for petrochemicalindustry. He explains many chemical products from C3 hydrocarbons and main petrochemical reactions of propylene, and refers to the first plan for industrial utilization of C3 fraction produced in Japan.
He also discusses the utilization of C4 fraction which is interesting problem in future.
