Abstract
The effective methods of separation and composition of the aromatic acids obtained by the oxidation of coal are discussed here.In order to isolate various benzene carboxylic acids, successful results may be obtained by means of vacuum distillation of the methyl esters and submitted separation of the distillate.Properties and infra-red spectra of each benzene carboxylic acids are shown. As for other aromatic acids, decarboxylation treatment results in effective isolation of individual component.
