IPCC was established in 1988, and published the Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C in 2018. Throughout these 30 years, human activities are considered to have caused global warming. For limiting global warming to 1.5°C by 2050, it would be required rapid and far-reaching transitions in social and industrial systems. So, we are working to foster so-called Green Innovation. In this context, efficient use of biomass resources is one of the important measures of that. I will explain Gunma Prefecture’s action plans on promotion of renewable energy and biomass utilization as an example of local governments’ works.
