The author delivered a short history of the lighting in China and daily life of her inhabitants seen from the stand point of lighting.
The lanterns, of paper and of glass, add red colored candles, large and small, were demonstrated. The author showed a pair of quartz balls which emit faint light when they are rubbed with each other by hand. The festival cups are sometimes: of the same kind and are called “luminous cups”.
