A maximum to minimum pressure heads ratio is related to the variation of emitter flows along a lateral line. A pressure head at any point along the lateral line and the average pressure head of the lateral line are theoretically expressed, and the maximum and the minimum pressure heads and their locations along the line are also theoretically expressed, depending on the range of a pressure head changes ratio due to friction and slope. The maximum to minimum pressure heads ratio is also expressed as a function of an inlet pressure head and pressure head changes due to friction and slope. Finally, design procedures of a drip lateral line and a design example are presented.
