The computer controlled scanning microscopy (CCSEM) is a powerful tool for the measurement of particle size distribution and chemical analysis of minerals in coal or fly ash particles. However, the effect of the operating condition on the deviation of measured data is not clarified. In this study, the threshold for the particle recognition and the accuracy of EDS for metallic oxides were examined.
