An architectural scrap was heat-treated in the range of 200-700℃ in nitrogen atmosphere. The heavy metals (V, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, As, Cd, Pb, Hg) in raw and heat-treated samples were analyzed with ICP-MS and Hg analyzer. The volatilization behavior of heavy metals depended on the type of metal. Hg and As were easily volatilized and almost all the Hg and As contained in the sample were volatilized at the heat-treatment temperature of lower than 400℃.
