In this study, oxidative decomposition of bio-oil model compound (stilbene) was carried out using acetic acid, hydrogen peroxide and iron-supported zeolite catalyst (FeZSM - 5). In all cases, stilbenes were not detected after oxidation reaction. Main compound after oxidation of stilbene was benzoic acid. The amount of benzoic acid increased with increasing reaction time. When the stilbene was oxidized for 24 h under the presence of FeZSM-5(0.5) and 11.9 ml of hydrogen peroxide, the yield of benzoic acid reached a maximum.
