Abstract
Copper ion in the etching waste solution can be loaded around 8.5wt% on Loy Yang brown coal by ion exchange method when tetraamminecopper (II) ion is produced in the solution by adding ammonia and controlling pH within 9-11.5. The Cu loaded brown coal is easily burnt at extremely low temperature condition: 170-180 degC without tar formation. And 0.5-1.0 μm CuO fine particles are recovered as the residue.
